It was a busy basketball Selection Sunday!
In this article I’ll be sharing my NCAA Basketball Brackets, thoughts on each regional, thoughts on seeding, and updating breaking news from a busy basketball Sunday.
Women’s NCAA Tournament
Spokane 1
UCLA got the Spokane 1 Regional
I don’t think they should’ve been the overall 1 seed based on their schedule not being as competitive as South Carolina but I believe they gave it to them because they beat South Carolina in November and USC in the B1G Ten Championship.
I think Tech over Richmond.
If LSU isn't fully healthy SDSU could get them.
Even if they win they will have their hands full with the NCAAs leading scorer in Taniya Latson and her Florida State crew.
Michigan State vs Harvard might be a tough one.
My bracket currently has NC State beating MSU which is very abnormal for me because it’s always Go Green! But NC State has a little more experience in the tournament with a majority of their Final Four team returning.
Birmingham 2
South Carolina wins the Birmingham Regional.
I had this team as the Number 1 Overall because they played the strongest strength of schedule and the most Quad 1 Wins.
1 Texas (WLW) & 1 UCLA (L) = 2-2
2 Duke (W), 2 TCU (W), 2 NC State (W), , 2 UConn (L) = 3-1
3 Oklahoma (WW) & 3 LSU (WW) = 4-0
4 Kentucky (W), 5 Alabama (W), 5 Tennessee (W), 5 Ole Miss (W) = 4-0
6 Michigan (W), 7 Vanderbilt (WW), 9 Miss. St (W), 11 Iowa State (W), 12 South Florida (W), = 6-0
That is 19-3 vs teams to make the tournament. No other team has a schedule this tough.
Utah & FGCU making it after the long time coach left after the start of the season to be WNBA coaches is impressive.
Maryland got those trophies front and center is a flex.
That NSU at Maryland game will be a good one.
I think Norfolk State could upset. Behold The Green & Gold 🔰 I think Norfolk State could make it to the Sweet 16. Beat Maryland then avenge their early season loss in a close one vs Alabama then Sweet 16.
OSU (Oregon State) making the tourney after all those players who led them to last years tourney left is also impressive.
Birmingham 3
I think Notre Dame comes out of that bracket over Texas.
I think Tennessee could beat Texas.
TCU vs Louisville is a potential matchup that could be really good. HVL’s school for undergrad vs her grad school.
Texas is a very debatable 1 seed because they didn’t schedule tough but because they’re in the SEC and beat South Carolina at Texas 1 time in a close game for some reason they got the nod. I think it is more respect to South Carolina. But I believe Southern California (USC) Should’ve been at least the number 3 overall and not Texas.
Spokane 4
This region was a set up!
They want Juju vs Paige again. The USC v UConn rematch from last season. I think USC redeems themselves (in tourney play) vs UConn & Iowa to win this regional.
UConn shouldn't even be considered a 1 seed. They don’t have a tough conference schedule and they’re not in the top 10 of teams with the most quad 1 wins. I think this continuous bias is just not okay.
Yeah Juju’s team! I believe USC earned a 1 seed only losing to Iowa at Iowa at the end of a multi-game away week & UCLA in the B1G Ten Championship after beating them twice in the B1G Ten Regular Season AND being the only team to beat UCLA. I agree with Coach Gottlieb USC at 4 is low key a snub.
??? For Spokane: this area was known for not having enough hotels so teams having to go to areas with a lot of racism last year and I feel like a different area should have been chosen for player safety.
My Bracket
I’m rooting for a 1 USC vs 1 USC Championship.
These teams scheduled 2025 & 2026 matchups on Nov. 15th and I believe the championship would set these teams up for an exciting finish.
We didn’t get to see them play this season and I want to see how one of the best defenses handles the National Player of the Year in Juju Watkins.
We also didn’t see South Carolina vs Notre Dame this season which was a matchup that opened the season in 2023-2024.

Conferences with the most bids
Lady Vol Legacy: Tennessee continues its NCAAT appearance streak as the only school to participate in NCAA D-1 WBB Championships since its inception in 1982.
I like the 4 Number 1 Seeds. I think they finished the season enough to grant them the 1. My only gripe is if each 1 seed wins their regional they’ll be playing a conference foe for the 4th time this season, and no one really wants that.

Coach Dawn Staley paid it forward by sending her championship net inspiring Arkansas State’s Coach Destinee Rogers. Now she’s in the tournament.
Carrie Moore, Harvard’s first Black head coach in program history, led them to their first Ivy League championship in her third season. With the automatic bid it's Harvard's first NCAA tournament appearance since the 2006-07 season.
In route to Harvard’s first Ivy League Championship and NCAAT Appearance star Harmoni Turner (Ivy League’s Most Oustanding Player) set a Harvard single game points record with 44 to beat Princeton.

Men’s NCAA Tournament
Every year I have a bracket where Michigan State wins it all but this year in every bracket I have them winning it all. This has been one of the best teams in the last decade AND growing up in Lansing, Michigan March is Izzo Month.
Cool potential matchups we could see would be an Iron Bowl in the Championship. Earlier this season these 2 teams faced off for the first time as Nationally Ranked Number 1 & Number 2. Also splitting their regular season conference series 1-1 each losing at home.
I like the SEC having 14 teams in. It Just Means More!

Trash Cloud 9 finally got her trade request to NYL granted. New York gets a veteran point guard with championship experience that they needed since Sloot went back to Chicago & Tash gets to play with her girlfriend Izzy. Now 2 teams Dallas Wings & New York Liberty have girlfriends playing on the same team.
This isn’t the first time NYL tried to acquire Cloud 9. In 2019 when Cloud was a restricted free agent with
